    Pioneertown was built in 1946 as a movie set for western movies and was to provide a place for the actors to live, and have their homes used as part of a movie set.
    From Hwy 62 (29 Palms Hwy.) in Yucca Valley go north on Pioneertown Road for about 5 miles. First, you'll see the sign; 'Pioneertown 1946', then look for Pappy & Harriet's Pioneertown Palace or The Pioneeer Bowl.
